AWS, Azure or GCP — Picking a Cloud Without Regret

The honest answer first

For most products, all three major clouds — AWS, Azure and Google Cloud — will get the job done. The decision rarely comes down to raw capability. It comes down to your team's existing skills, your customers' compliance requirements, and the integrations you already depend on.

When we lean AWS

AWS is the broadest, deepest and most battle-tested platform. If your team is already comfortable with it, your customers expect it, or you need a specific service that only AWS offers, lean AWS. It's our default for greenfield product work.

When we lean Azure

Azure is the right call when the client lives in the Microsoft ecosystem — Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Power Platform, Dynamics. Identity, compliance and enterprise integrations land much faster on Azure for those organisations.

When we lean GCP

GCP shines for data, analytics and ML-heavy workloads. BigQuery, Vertex AI and Cloud Run make a lot of sense when your product is data-first or you want serverless containers without the AWS sprawl.

What actually matters more than the logo

  • Infrastructure-as-code from day one (Terraform, Bicep or Pulumi)
  • A CI/CD pipeline that's boring and predictable
  • Observability before you launch, not after the first incident
  • A migration story for when you eventually outgrow the first design

Pick the cloud your team can run safely. The boring decisions compound.
